Chinese Teachers

Shing Chiu

Teaching was Shing's dream ever since she was a child in Shanghai.  Her extensive travel throughout China as well as her own upbringing resulted in her knowledge of and ability to teach Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese. Shing moved to the US from Hong Kong in 1995 and earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from UAlbany and is fluent in English. She has been teaching a summer Chinese program for four yearsShe is passionate about Chinese cooking, painting and music and incorporates her love of these into her classes.  Her energy and love of teaching show in her language classrooms.

Quanxi Wu

Quanxi has been teaching Chinese for more than 20 years.  He has taught Chinese to elementary school-aged children in China and the US and has shared his passion for the Chinese language with young adults as well. Through teaching Chinese, he also incorporates culture and activities that children love, such as calligraphy, drawing, Chinese chess and ping pong!  He believes that once language barriers are overcome, people from different parts of the world will be better unified to build a more prosperous future.  Quanxi is available to teach any level of Chinese to children or adults, at either of CRLC’s locations.
