Our French Teachers

Olivia Barone

Olivia is currently pursuing a PhD Program in French Studies with an emphasis on linguistics and language acquisition at the University at Albany. She has just completed all of her course work for her PhD and she hopes to be back, teaching with CRLC, at both of our locations. She has a B.A. in French Education as well as a M.A. in Holistic Education from SUNY Fredonia. She has a permanent New York State certification in French grades 6-12. Olivia was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She teaches group classes and private lessons to students all grades and specializes in integrating interactive activities to suit individual learning styles and goals.

Johanna Sophia

Johanna grew up in Germany in a Waldorf environment with German, English and French, studied at various universities in Germany, France, and finally at Columbia University, New York. She taught German for 7 years at Columbia University and for 2 years at SIT, NJ while completing her 3 theses in Film. She also holds a degree in Waldorf Education from Germany with a Minor in French. She has taught children and students of all ages, young adults and teachers in general subjects, music, dance, film, acting, directing, writing, and languages as well as the art of language-teaching in Germany, France, Zimbabwe, Romania, the US, Jamaica, and Namibia.

Victoria (Vicki) Tremper

Vicki earned a B.A. in French Language and Literature from Smith College and a M.A. in International Relations from the University of South Carolina. She spent a summer working for a software company in Paris during college, her junior year studying at the Sorbonne, and 2-1/2 years working for a humanitarian aid agency in French-speaking African country, Rwanda. Vicki is state certified to teach French to grades K-12, and has been teaching in after school programs in the Capital Region for the past 5 years.
